Utah Valley University (UVU) Opens New ACULIS Software Test Lab

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - February 28, 2008 - Utah Valley University (UVU) in partnership with ACULIS, a leading IT development services and consulting company, opened the doors of their new state-of-the-art software development and testing facility.

Labeled, "ACULIS Software Test Lab", the facility is designed to enhance UVU's School of Technology and Computing, enabling faculty and students to integrate real world scenarios incorporating software engineering and software testing. Construction of the new facility was a joint effort between UVU Technology Staff, Students and ACULIS IT Professionals.

"This is truly an historic relationship between ACULIS and UVU, where our students, our faculty, and our community can gain," says Dr. Ernest L. Carey - Dean of School of Technology & Computing. "We value this type of business community involvement in developing opportunities and facilities for our students to acquire top-notch education in their field, and ACULIS has really stepped up to the task."

Additionally, ACULIS CEO James Stone was appointed President of the Computer Science Industrial Advisory Board at UVU in December 0f 2007. Mr. Stone will be assisting UVU with the ongoing development of the Computer Science Program and Software Engineering Program at UVU, with duties including developing Program Objectives, Program Outcomes, Curriculum Review and Development.

"Our goal is to provide premiere undergraduate programs that give students real-world engagements and development of their skills so that they may continue to advance and innovate in their chosen field of study—while at UVU and beyond."
